MIDI Soundfont comparison (Android, Windows, 3DS, Keyboard)

MIDI Soundfont comparison (Android, Windows, 3DS, Keyboard)

I compare soundfonts of these devices: - Android 2.3 and 5.1 (HTC Desire S and Xperia Z3) - Nintendo DS running Moonshell - Windows 8.0 - Yamaha PSR E-303 keyboard - An old phone, Sony Ericsson T630 with a short MIDI. I recorded everything except T630 directly through the audio output. === Results: ====== 1. The original song | Splattack by Nintendo 2. Custom Android soundfont | App: MIDI Voyager Sounds very realistic and has awesome drums. 3. Built-in soundfont of Moonshell | Homebrew DS It has great guitar samples, even with DS limitations. 4. Yamaha PSR E-303 and its built-in soundfont This one has intentionally reduced midtones and it sounds great from the keyboard's speakers. 5. Built-in Windows soundfont It sounds pretty flat and it's used too much, especially here. Made by Roland in 1996, in Windows since Win98. 6. Soundfont in Sony Ericsson T630 The bass is barely audible because the phone doesn't have a normal headphone output. I had to record the phone's mono speaker with a mic next to it. 7. Android's built-in soundfont This one sounds like it's made for classical music. Everything has too much reverb, too. It's same in Android 2.3 Gingerbread and 5.1 Lollipop. ====================== Used programs: MidiTrail for MIDI visualization on Windows MIDI Voyager for visualization on Android FL Studio 11 for making the Midi

Best Piano Soundfonts of 2017 UPDATED + VSTs for Comparison

Best Piano Soundfonts of 2017 UPDATED + VSTs for Comparison

My old video deserved an update, and I finally was able to finish it. Here are my personal best piano soundfonts of 2017, along with many soundfonts you may like (and maybe you'll like them better). On all of these soundfonts, I ran various amounts of compression and reverb (Soundgoodizer and GlaceVerb) through the sounds so they may sound slightly different. However, you can make them sound the same using those plugins (which are basically free). You can download most of the soundfonts here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/13xC285QI7piXn9Zq4kGMI19UQa8gz89y?usp=sharing KaleidonKep99's soundfonts: http://kaleidonkep99.it/ https://github.com/KaleidonKep99?tab=repositories Zarhym Raider's soundfonts: https://plus.google.com/102746763074741733302/posts/Sy7aYoBPjA2 If there's any I missed, let me know. I forgot to include a few soundfonts, the demos for those are also in the downloads folder. I hope this video helps anyone who's looking for a good soundfont. It's not very easy to look for soundfonts, so I added many so that you all may find them easily. The MIDI used is a series of C chord notes, followed by Moonlight Sonata, Revolutionary Etude, and finally Himiko. Credit to Bernd Krueger and Ayato for the original MIDIs.
